Categories: Cooking, Educational Instructors, Food Service, Lodging, TravelJob DescriptionTitle:Activities DirectorReports to:Managing DirectorSummary of Position: Promote, plan, coordinate and supervise the execution of all activities, special events and functions to keep our guest busy and entertained while staying here at Silver Saddle Ranch & Club. Come up with new ideas for activities and events. Ensure customer satisfaction and that the events run smoothly and efficiently.Duties & Responsibilities:XDevelop new activities for our guests both adults and children. This includes coming up with the ideas, developing a budget/cost of the activity, getting approval, and then planning and implementing the ideas. XDevelop and maintain a calendar of activities for our guests. Work with Director of Guest Service to publish the calendar of activities for our guests. XCoordinate and/or run the different activities for our guests. Some activities will be run directly by the Activities Director and other activities will be run by other team members including GSMs, managers and team members from other departments. XDocument arrangements of each type of activity on an activity sheet. Obtain all specifications and pertinent information concerning the activity, including but not limited to, number attending, schedule of events and menu if food is included etc.XPrepare and post weekly schedules to ensure a sufficient number and appropriate skill levels of staff.XContinually strive to develop your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.XPrepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.XProvide team members helping with a copy of each activity sheet to gain a thorough understanding of specifications prior to the start of the activity.XRequisition or obtain equipment and supplies needed for each activity, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and requirements. XInspect activity area prior to the start of each activity V check room setup, menu, service staff, etc. conforms to function sheet.XGreet customers prior to the start of each activity and be present throughout the event to assist where needed.XPeriodically check with customer to ensure satisfaction and respond to any requests.XContinually observe, direct and assist staff where necessary during each activity. Ensure that all the details as per the functions sheet/activity checklist are performed.XDirect and supervise breakdown and cleanup after the event. Account for all equipment and supplies. Return restaurant items to storage areas. Return or arrange for return of rented materials.Requirements:Qualifications:XBe 21 years of age.XExperience running various activities such as Arts & Crafts, sports, group motivational activities, games, etc. XManagerial and supervisory experience preferred.XBe able to communicate and understand the customers and staff.XHave knowledge of customer service and running activities, generally involving at least two years running a camp, all inclusive resort or cruise activities or similar type of position.X Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).XBe able to reach, bend, stoop and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
